Located under the Roof of Indochina, the small town of Sapa always attracts tourists not only by its spectacular landscape, the unspoiled atmosphere but also the original culture of different ethnics living in the remote areas of the mighty Hoang Lien Son massif range.
Arrival at the airport. Welcome by the local guide and transfer to the city. Hanoi, one the most antique capitals of the South East Asia, Hanoi offers to the world its very authentic aspect: old temples, pagodas dated from 11th century, its treasure of streets and alleys populated by ancient traditional trades and crafts with small streets, a colonial quarter with wide tree-lined avenues, lakes and green parks and villas reminiscent of a French town of the 30s. Check in the hotel (if room available). Take a trishaw ride in the 36 old streets and enjoy the Water Puppet show, a very amazing traditional and cultural performance of Vietnamese folk tales and historical anecdotes. Have dinner at the typical restaurant. Transfer back to the hotel. Overnight in 3* hotel.
Breakfast at the hotel. Today is dedicated for a full day visit the “heart” of Hanoi: the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum square, the “One Pillar Pagoda” built in the early 11th century, Quan Thanh temple, Tran Quoc pagoda. Lunch during excursion. We continue the visit to the Temple of Literature, home to the oldest university in Vietnam, the Sword Lake with Ngoc Son Temple. After dinner at local restaurant, transfer to Hanoi Railways Station for a night train to Lao Cai. Overnight on board (Air conditioned 04 berth cabin share).
We arrive at Lao Cai railways station in the early morning. Transfer to Sa Pa for breakfast then we start the visit to Lao Chai, a village of the Black Hmong. We continue walking to Ta Van village – home to Zay people, a fairly small minority group who live mainly in the mountains in Northwest Vietnam. After lunch at restaurant, we take a drive to Ta Phin where we can witness the unmixed cultural life of Black Hmong and Red Dao minorities, the two largest ethnic groups living in the same area. We have chance to contact the local people, visit their traditional house and explore their daily life. Transfer back to Sa Pa. Dinner and overnight at 3* hotel.
After the breakfast we will be transferred to Bac Ha for the largest weekly ethnic fair of the region (only available on Sundays). Different ethnic minorities from the remote villages come to the market to sell their homemade products and enjoy the Thang Co – special soup of the Hmong. We visit the market and explore the people with their colorful traditional clothes and traditions. Lunch will be served in a local restaurant. In the afternoon, we take a drive downhill towards Lao Cai. Stop on the way for a short walk to Trung Do village inhabited by Tay people. We will meet the local people and listen to them talking about their daily life as well as their customs. Transfer to Lao Cai. Dinner at the local restaurant before getting the night train back to Hanoi. Overnight on board (Air conditioned 04 berth cabin share).
In the morning we leave the hustle of Hanoi and jeep to Mai Chau, a beautiful valley encountered by mighty mountain range. On the way we visit to spectacular Hang pagoda and Muong village to discover their culture. We arrive in Mai Chau in the afternoon then after a short rest we start to explore Thai life style. We walk around the village, visit local stilt house, talk to people and watch them weaving clothes and making traditional dress. Dinner and overnight at local house.
After breakfast, we hike through rice fields to Pom Coong village – home to Muong and Thai ethnic. Enjoy fresh air, breathtaking landscape from the village and meet amazing people. Lunch is served at the village and transfer back to Hanoi airport for flight departure to next destination. End of our services.
