Start in the morning from Hanoi, take National road No.6 to Hoa Binh City. The challenge comes with the very sloping roads, but you will be amazed with sugarcane and orange farms, rice fields, karst mountains in the distance. Stop on the way for refreshing and the view of Muong Minority group’s villages. Continue the drive until reach to Hoa Binh Reservoir, as known as another Ha Long Bay on mountain. Lunch at a former local authority officer’s house. Relax yourself until depart for Mai Chau. Arrive in Mai Chau town about 30 minutes later, check in at homestay in Poom Coong village.
Dinner and overnight in Mai Chau
Waken up by natural alarm-roosters. Enjoy breakfast and then start a morning walk around the villages to learn more about rural life. Back to homestay for packing your stuffs and set off for Hanoi. Drive downhill and stop at private Muong Culture Space Museum. Lunch with authentic foods of the Muong at the biggest house of the museum. Unwind yourself a bit after the meal, then drive back to Hanoi. Trip ends at your hotel.
