Arrival at the airport. Welcome by the local guide and transfer to the hotel. Hanoi, one of the oldest capitals in South East Asia, owns a unique atmosphere of French town in a colonial era merging into an oriental culture highlighted by old temples, mystic pagodas, and bustling small trading streets. Overnight in 3* hotel.
Breakfast at the hotel. Full day visit Hanoi: Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum, the President’s stilt house, One Pillar Pagoda – symbol of Hanoi – built in the early 11th century, Quan Thanh temple, Tran Quoc pagoda and the West Lake. Lunch is served at the typical restaurant. In the afternoon, we continue the visit to the museum of ethnology, the Temple of Literature, home to the oldest university in Vietnam, the Sword Lake and Ngoc Son Temple. Transfer to Hanoi Railways Station for a night train to Lao Cai. Overnight on board.
We arrive in Lao Cai in the early morning and have breakfast at local restaurant before transfer to Bac Ha. Visit to the Sunday’s largest ethnic fair of the North West highlands where different ethnic minorities gather after hard working days. People from remote villages go there to sell their homemade products, meet each other, chat and enjoy Thang Co, a special Hmong soup. It’s a chance to explore the real life of major ethnics of the country, recognize their identity by their colorful traditional clothes and customs. In the afternoon, we take a drive downhill towards Lao Cai. Stop on the way for a short walk to Trung Do village inhabited by Tay people. We meet the villagers and listen to them talking about their daily life. A Tay family welcomes us to its traditional house for a cup of tea. Drive to Sa Pa. Overnight in 3* hotel.
After breakfast we visit to Lao Chai, a village of Black Hmong. We walk to Ta Van village and meet Zay people, a minor ethnic who is living mainly in the mountainous areas. Back to Sapa for lunch then we drive to Ta Phin. The area is spectacular not only with the mighty landscape but also the unmixed culture of the two largest ethnic groups, Black Hmong and Red Dao, living together. We walk around to meet the local, visit their typical house and explore their daily activities. Transfer back to Lao Cai for night train back to Hanoi. Overnight on board.
After arrival in Hanoi we will be transferred to hotel for breakfast then continue by road to Ha Long bay. The name of Ha Long comes from the legend of the dragon going down to the sea. We board the lovely typical ship for an extraordinary cruise through thousand of islands, islets and rocks. Enjoy buffet lunch while sailing on the bay. In the afternoon, we experience a local rowing boat to visit Luon cave. The rest of the day is for swimming, relaxing on the beach or climbing up to the top of Rock mountain to enjoy a spectacular panorama view of the bay. Back to the ship. Relax and enjoy sunset on the sun deck while cruising to overnight anchorage. Sumptuous dinner is served on board following by a full relax in the peaceful and quiet night in the bay on board 4* cruise boat.
The new day starts with Tai Chi class on the sundeck and sunrise on the bay. Enjoy coffee, tea and bakeries on board while cruising to Surprise grotto for a visit of the most impressive caves of the bay. We continue sailing in the splendid beauty of the bay while brunch buffet is served. The cruise ends in the late morning and we take a road to the airport for the flight to Hue. Overnight at 4* hotel in Hue.
Capital of the last Vietnamese dynasty since 1801, Hue still preserves not only the royal life style but also a poetic charm of a city. We drive along the river to visit Minh Mang – the most majestic imperial tomb and Thien Mu pagoda. A romantic boat ride on Perfume River takes us to Thuy Bieu, an untouched traditional village of Hue. We cycle around the village under the shade of the fruit trees, visit the orchards and talk with the local. An exciting cooking class will be done at a local garden house followed by delicious lunch of Hue specialties. Full relax with a foot bath in medicinal herb water and traditional foot massage. In the afternoon, we continue the visit by car to the Great citadel built in 1805. The complex, World Cultural Heritage site, includes the Noon Gate, the Supreme Harmony Palace, the Forbidden City, the Royal theatre, The Great Urns, etc. A discovery of Dong Ba market with countless stalls selling specialties of Hue ends the excursion of the day. Back to hotel and overnight in 4* hotel.
After breakfast, transfer by road to Hoi An. We make a short stop at the top of Cloudy pass to contemplate a spectacular panorama of mountain next to the sea. The trip continues to Da Nang. We visit Cham Museum where a large collection of Cham artifacts is displayed. We arrive in Hoi An in the early afternoon and tour the old town: pagoda bridge, the old houses with typical design, Chinese assembly, handicraft workshops, street life activities. In the evening free to explore the night market. Overnight in 4* hotel.
Today we discover the hidden sites of Hoi An. We cycle to the wharf and take a local ferry crossing Thu Bon River to Thanh Ha pottery village. We experience how to make a pottery product then embark a local boat to visit Kim Bong carpentry village, local traditional shipyard, wood carving and mosaic. We ride a bike through paddy fields, local market, kindergarten to Van Lang fishing village where lunch will be served at local family. In the afternoon, a rowing basket boat ride on the canals of watery coconut tree forest in the extremely green of the nature would be an unforgettable adventure. Back to hotel and free time at leisure. Overnight in 4* hotel.
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for flight to Ho Chi Minh City. Formerly known as Saigon, Ho Chi Minh City is the youngest and most dynamic city of Vietnam. Welcome by the guide and transfer to the restaurant for lunch. In the afternoon, we experience the scooter ride to visit the city: bustling Chinatown, Temple of the Goddess of Sea, the municipal Post Office, Notre Dame Cathedral. Drive to the hotel for check in and overnight in 3* hotel.
After breakfast, transfer by road to Ben Tre. Take a boat trip on the Mekong and visit to the handicraft brick kiln then go into the small canal bordered by longan trees, papaya trees, and water coconut trees. We leave the boat to watch how local people make candies with coconut and taste the fresh seasonal fruits. A motor-cart takes us on the country path to a beautiful typical house for lunch. After a short break, we visit to the old local house to witness a large collection of antique ceramics. Experience a rowing sampan along the water palms to a motor boat that takes us back to the pier. The excursion continues by road to a local house in Vinh Long. In the late afternoon, we take a bike along the river to discover the village and visit Khmer pagoda. Dinner and overnight at local house.
In early morning, we ride a motor sampan to visit Cai Rang market, one of the largest floating markets of the delta. Hundred boats hanging their products for sale on the bamboo pole gather on the waterway to sell their goods. Our boat goes into the busy market among the cargos carrying potatoes, pumpkins, fruits, etc., and we have a chance to visit local people on board. Disembark and visit Binh Thuy temple – one of the oldest temples in the Mekong delta. Walk through a local market to a well preserved old house of the province to witness a collection of antique ritual objects. Lunch at local restaurant then transfer back to Saigon. Overnight in 3* hotel.
Free time till transfer to the airport for next destination.
