Visit the highlights of Hanoi: Sword Lake, Ngoc Son Temple, Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum square, One Pillar Pagoda built in the early eleventh century, the Temple of Literature date from 1070. After breakfast we drive to Ninh Binh, a province of the Red river delta. On arrival at Trang An, we take a rowing sampan ride on the quiet Sao Khe river to contemplate one of the sweetest and most poetic landscapes in Asia: abrupt cliffs emerge from a peaceful spring and paddy, fantastic caves decorated with amazing stalactites and stalagmites. We leave the boat for the visit to Bai Dinh, the biggest pagoda of the country with 500 La Han statues and the biggest bronze Buddha statue in Vietnam. Typical lunch will be served at the local restaurant then transfer to the hotel for the rest. In the afternoon, we cycle the countryside to visit the former capital of the country and visit the temples Dinh and Le. Overnight in 4* hotel.
Departure for Ha Long bay where a fantastic cruise on board a lovely traditional junk will take you through the myriad of islands, islets, rocks. The name of Ha Long comes from the legend of the dragon going down to the sea. We board the lovely typical ship for an extraordinary cruise through thousand of islands, islets and rocks. Enjoy buffet lunch while sailing on the bay. In the afternoon, we experience a local rowing boat to visit Luon cave. The rest of the day is for swimming, relaxing on the beach or climbing up to the top of Rock mountain to enjoy a spectacular panorama view of the bay.Back to the ship. Relax and enjoy sunset on the sun deck while cruising to overnight anchorage. Sumptuous dinner is served on board following by a full relax in the peaceful and quiet night in the bay. The new day starts with Tai Chi class on the sundeck and sunrise on the bay. Drive along the coast and crossing the Cloudy Pass to Da Nang. Known as Tourane under the French rule, Da Nang is the largest city in the center of Vietnam and one of the major port cities of the country. We visit the Cham Museum, built in 1915 with the motifs of Ancient Cham architecture, to witness the largest of Cham sculpture and artwork in the world. The transfer continues southwards to Hoi An – a well-preserved example of the South East Asian trading port of the 15th to the 18th century. After check-in the hotel, we tour the old town: the Japanese covered bridge, the ancient house with the architecture influenced by Japanese and Chinese design, the Cantonese Assembly Hall, the handicraft workshop where folk music performances are offered and Hoi An market. Then, we get relaxed on the boat cruising along the Thu Bon river to enjoy the sunset and watch the daily life of the local people. Overnight in 4* hotel.
The morning is dedicated to the discovery of the ruins of Champa. Excursion to My Son, the ancient Holy Land of Cham Empire. Built in a hidden valley surrounded by the mysterious mountains, the temples of My Son were the most important temples of the Champa Kingdom between the 4th century and the 13th century. Sophisticated sculptures of gods, animals, and fascinating scenes of mythical battles and worship can be seen on the walls of the temples. Back to Hoi An for lunch at the typical restaurant in the old town. The afternoon will be free to enjoy the beach or to discover of the old town by your own. Overnight in 4* hotel.
In the morning transfer to the airport for flight to Ho Chi Minh City. Formerly known as Saigon, Ho Chi Minh City, is not only of a largest commercial city but also a hub of sciences, technology, industry of the country. The excursion starts by the visit to the Cu Chi tunnels, a vast underground network constructed by the Vietnamese guerrillas during the last war. Lunch en route and drive back to Saigon. The afternoon is dedicated to the sightseeing of the biggest chaotic metropolis of the south of the country: The municipal Post Office, Notre dame Cathedral, Chinatown, Binh Tay market, Thien Hau temple. Overnight in 3* hotel.
After the breakfast we take a road to Cai Be where we we embark a typical wooden boat. A short presentation give us an overview of the delta and the sailing route. Enjoy lunch with specialties and start to discover the daily life of the watery delta. In the afternoon, we walk on the country paths through countless trees laden with fruits, small villages and get contact with local people in their plantations of papaya, mango, banana, etc. Back on board for refreshment and enjoy the sunset on the river. Dinner and overnight on board.
In the early morning, we sail in the busy traffic of cargos carrying fruits, rice, timber, and sand, etc. to Can Tho where we take a small motorboat to experience the bustling trade at Cai Rang floating market. We disembark and take a road to visit Binh Thuy temple. After lunch at a typical restaurant we continue by road to Chau Doc. In the afternoon, a sampan takes us to the floating fishery farm, Cham village and its mosque. Overnight in 3* hotel.
Transfer to the wharf for a nice trip upstream to Phnom Penh. End of the services in Vietnam.
